Afro rock band, Dark Suburb, formerly know as Faint Medal, have some crazy amazing songs accompanying their new identity. The band just released a video for their song “Get Out,” the third single off their upcoming EP, The Awakening. The song uses samples from the 1970’s Highlife classic, “Yaa Amponsah.” It is produced by one of Ghana’s most daring guitarists, Kyekyeku. “Get Out” is all about love, trust and the socio-economic wahala of everyday life.

Video Title: BORLA

Uncle Obama hitmaker, Sister Deborah, comes out fresh with a video for her new single “Borla.” “Borla” is a word for filth or waste. The song likens the opportunistic lives of some lovers to filth. At a time when Ghana is battling major sanitation issues, the song capitalizes on the term, well know to every Ghanaian. The video features E.L, the self-acclaimed “Best African Rapper (BAR)”  and Sister Deborah’s big brother, Wanlov the Kubolor ans one-half of the FOKN BOIS.

Video Title: GOLLIBE

Nigerian Highlife music star Flavour goes on a serious wife hunt and actually finds one in his new video for “Gollibe.” In this Nollywood scenario, Flavour moves from the city to the village to search for a maiden for his father’s kingdom. The video features one of Nigeria’s veteran actors, Pete Edochie.

Video Title: APHE KAPA

CapeTown-born electronic music producer, rapper & DJ, Boolz releases this colorful music video for “Aphe Kapa” which means “Here in Cape Town.” Boolz gained recognition after the release of his debut EP, SOS [Straight Outta Skom], in 2013. The rapper’s production style is influenced by hip hop, witch-house, house, kwaito, and electro. With this, Boolz is gradually winning the admiration of Capetonians.  The Langa-based artist was recently signed to Rude World Records and he’s more than ready to establish more of that futuristic music straight out of hood.

Video Title: iMOTO

Heavy Weight Record artist Nokwazi “Kwazi” Dlamini has finally dropped a video for high tempo house song, “iMoto.” Nokwazi who is not new to the South African music industry has worked with the best of the best in South Africa. The Heavy Weight artist has worked with Uhuru, Brenda Fassies, Busi Mhlongos and MbongeniNgema. She is set to release an album, Ilambu, which is Zulu for light. Nokwazi says the album is inspired by her journey, and is greatly influenced by her Zulu culture and tradition.
