Falana’s “Black Little Angels”

Ontario-based Nigerian songstress FALANA, drops the visual to the second single off her Things Fall Together EP, “Angelitos Negros.”

The heartfelt song, which translates into “Black Little Angels” and is inspired by Venezuelan poet Andres Eloys’s Pintame Angelitos Negros, captures in one stunning performance questions that are plaguing Black folks the world over right now. These questions dissect our position and power. Do we have a comprehensive capacity to make a safe space on Earth to exist and thrive?

“Paint Black little angels for me, cause they go to heaven, too,” Falana chants. In the video, the singer takes a series of objects – a sneaker, handcuffs and bullets – and remakes them into a completely different statement. More and more, we are excited about what Falana will exhibit next.
